    Graduate Application

    To alleviate some of the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many SUNY Cortland graduate programs are implementing temporary measures to relax some of their admissions requirements. These measures will be in place for applicants starting in the Summer or Fall 2020 terms.

    If you are having difficulty completing any portion of your application or gathering required materials, please send an email to graduate.admissions@cortland.edu.

    We will review your situation with the appropriate academic department and determine how to proceed, while providing a fair and thoughtful process.

    Current short-term measures include:
    • SUNY Cortland is waiving the standardized exam requirement for most graduate programs. This waiver will be extended to applicants for the Summer and Fall 2020 start terms. The waiver applies only to admission for graduate programs. Please be aware that some external certifications may eventually require a standardized exam.
    • For applicants to the athletic training master’s program please contact Alyson.Dearie@cortland.edu to request a waiver if you have difficulty with any of the following:
      • completing observation hours
      • acquiring recommendations from a supervising athletic trainer
      • completing CPR certification
      • completing any portion of your application
